There has never been a better opportunity to submit to "The Last Time" (http://abidepublishing.blogspot.com/), probably because it hasn't existed until now.
"The Last Time" is a magazine produced every month. While not really being a 'literary magazine' in the strictest sense of the term, we accept poetry, short stories and non-fiction. Our aim is to publish pieces contributed by the widest range of people we can find. It doesn't matter if you've never written before. You can be a well-known poet, a bus driver or a fisherman and we'll still accept you with open arms.
Each issue of "The Last Time" will have a specific theme, centring around the last time you did something. The theme for issue 1 is "the last photograph you took." Although this sounds fairly restricting, we encourage you to be as imaginative as you want with the theme. You can write an entirely fictional account of your last photograph. It can be a story; a poem; an essay on the nature of photographs or it can be an entirely matter of fact description of the last pic you took.
"The Last Time" has fairly strict contribution guidelines, so please read this short list carefully. If you want to be published, you must try to stick to these rules:
1. The pieces we publish should be short; no longer than seven hundred words, please.
2. We accept stories, poems, essays; whatever you can do with the written word. However, at the moment, we do not accept visual art, so no photographs or drawings please.
3. Send your piece with a short bio. We'd like to have a contributor's list at the back. Include contact information if you'd like.
4. You can send us your piece anyway you'd like. E-mail is probably easiest, although we do accept mail.
5. If you are sending an e-mail, please make sure your document is compatible with the old Microsoft word (we're still catching up.)
6. We will only publish one of your pieces if you plan to send us several. If you have a number of contributions, send them all and we'll see which one we like best.
At present, we cannot offer any money to contributors. However, each person that sends us something will receive a personalised Haiku. That's a promise.
Deadlines for issue 1 are open till the 21st of May. You don't have long, so start writing!
