Prizes?

Postby tatterdemalion on Sat Apr 19, 2008 11:04 pm

Hey ho folks,
Christine and I are having some trouble coming up with good general prizes for The Flasher. Early on, I thought it would be a great idea to offer such exciting items as a pink pastic Barbie brand typewriter, but Christine gently explained to me that "WHO IN HELL WOULD WANT ONE OF THOSE?"

So we're currently kinda stuck with gift vouchers and the like. Has anyone got any better ideas that a wide range of people would appreciate? I mean, we're mainly running off the people who enter for the prestige of their names in our esteemed literary blog and for the fun of the game, but we would like to be able to offer something more enticing for the less motivated types.

Please, throw anything out there. What would YOU like to win? What would your girlfriend want? What would your mum want? Help!

The typewriter is awesome...but obviously, as students, cash/ useful vouchers are also good (JB Hifi, Borders, DUSA bookshop etc).

Books? But they can be so subjective (i.e. I would lose my mind over a Booker Prize winner [generally] but would a sci-fi reader feel the same way?).

Vouchers/ cash seem to be the way to go - perhaps you can channel your creative energy into a 'Flasher of the Year' Prize (the Barbie typewriter spraypainted gold and nailed to a trophy board perhaps?).
